Let's make a blanket fort and hide from people.

But remember, there are two ways to dehumanize someone: by dismissing them, and by idolizing them.

The word famous has become an excuse, a placeholder, a stereotype. By labeling someone as famous, by idolizing them, you are dehumanizing them. They are no longer Harry Styles, they are “famous”. They are the Harry Styles you want him to be, or the one the media portrays. He’s not the real Harry. Even though he’s the same guy from before, the same guy he’ll always be. But when someone is famous, we believe that we have the power to say who they are. He’s not just “a guy” anymore he’s “famous”. But famous shouldn’t be a label, it shouldn’t determine his life.

We all love Harry, but think about that before you treat him like an idol or an object. Because that’s what you’re doing when you expect something from him, when you think he owes you something. He’s a human before anything else, he likes his privacy, he likes to dress how he pleases, and he likes his job. He is human like us, with his fault and his good traits, with his bad and good habits. He respects every single one of his fans, he treats us like he wants to be treated.

He was Harry Styles before he was famous, he’s not Harry Styles because of us. He does not owe us anything, not a picture, not a video, not a change of clothing. He is a person, please treat him like one.
